Meet the Course Creators 

Enrico Pontelli 


Enrico Pontelli is the Special Advisor to the Provost for AI at New Mexico State University (NMSU) and the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. A Regents Professor in computer science, he plays a key role in advancing AI initiatives across research, academics, and industry partnerships. Pontelli also serves as a primary point of contact for the New Mexico AI Consortium, working to drive innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration in artificial intelligence.

Mari Langford


Mari Langford is a Program Manager at New Mexico State University (NMSU), dedicated to creating pathways to equity in computing and AI education. With a passion for fostering inclusion, she designs and implements initiatives that empower underrepresented groups in computer science. Her expertise lies in integrating creativity with technology to break barriers and expand access to STEM opportunities.

Eric Draayer 


Dr. Eric Draayer is a computer scientist specializing in artificial intelligence and machine learning, with expertise in data segmentation, uncertainty quantification, and time series analysis. A recent PhD graduate in computer science, he has worked with Sandia National Laboratories and the U.S. Department of Defense, applying AI to real-world challenges in security, healthcare, and beyond. Eric’s research focuses on developing reliable AI models for complex data interpretation, and he is passionate about bridging cutting-edge AI concepts with practical applications that drive innovation and impact.

Andrew Sedillo 


Andrew Sedillo is the Executive Director of Strategic Initiatives and Partnerships at New Mexico State University (NMSU), with over 13 years of experience in K-12, higher education, and corporate learning. He is dedicated to designing transformative, accessible, and skill-focused learning experiences that prepare learners for success in today’s evolving job market. Andrew leads NMSU’s microlearning initiatives, developing industry-aligned microcredentials that equip students and professionals with in-demand skills.
